Our Story
We began making cutting boards, coasters, and board games at the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012 at the request of family and friends. As more people began to show interest, we found ourselves making more and more, and realized that we could use this venture to help our children through college. We've expanded a bit more each year, and you can now find use at various shows & venues across Iowa & Illinois.
About our Products
The products found on our website are all made from recycled scrap solid-surface counter tops. We purchase the sink cut-outs, end cuts, and discontinued pieces of new solid-surface counter top material from installers and manufacturers.
The solid surface counter tops made by Corian, Meganite, Swanstone, etc., are all nonporous, so liquids will not penetrate the surface and grow bacteria. Using a knife to cut on these boards will only leave surface scratches, rather than deep cuts and gouges like in plastic or wood. When you no longer like the scratched-look of your board, simply take 220 grit sandpaper and sand the board until all of the scratches are removed. The color and pattern of the board cannot be sanded away because it is solid all the way through.
Many of our customers are concerned with the impact of using our boards on their knives. A knife becomes dull more quickly with the hardness of the surface upon which you cut. Solid surface is harder than wood or plastic, but not as hard as stone and glass, which dull your knife very quickly.

Our cutting boards are impact-resistant and will not shatter if dropped. If something does happen to your board, such as a small chip on the edge from hard impact, the chip will smooth out with sandpaper.
These cutting boards are also heat-resistant, but NOT heat proof. When placing hot pans on the board, make sure to place a pot holder or towel down first to reduce the risk of your product cracking.
